IRS Shutdown Causes Delay to 2013 Tax Season

The IRS announced yesterday that the start of tax season (usually January 21st) will be delayed by as much as two weeks.  This delay will postpone the government issuing refunds.  Interestingly enough, the end of the season April 15th when returns (without extensions) and all payments (whether or not extended) will not change! 

So, once again, the government is keeping the taxpayer’s money longer but not giving any breaks for payment!
